Negative

We received the beta report from SCI this morning and the value was less than two.  Blah.

The fact that we can read all of positive outcomes here in blog-land, even after parents had several failed attempts, makes it much easier to get past a negative result.  We know we will have a positive result.  It's just a game of patience and faith.

This was only our first attempt and we have 10 more frozen embryos.  We're staying positive.  Just waiting to hear back from SCI regarding when we can try again.

  1. Sorry fellas. Take time and grieve the pain and let yourselves get angry. It sucks.

BUT, you have joined a very large group that nobody wants to be in - those who didn't get lucky with their first try (us included x2!).

Persistence ALWAYS wins....hang in there and I'm glad to see you have the right attitude about trying again.

  6. Oh guys - I'm sorry! Sucks to get that result so early in the process (and yet after you've already invested so much time and emotional effort) - but it can only make you stronger. I'm glad to see the positive outlook - I hope you can get scheduled for a retry soon!!!

Writing these posts are so hard but coming from one of those couples that had to work extra hard to get our little girl, you have so much to look forward to!...it's right around the corner, you guys...and all this waiting and heartache will go away once you've hit the jackpot. Believe me, PLEASE! :-) With that said, I'm sorry about your negative, boys...and so happy you're moving forward. Take care.

  14. That negative sucks! I've been there too, and like Bernadette said, it's the planning for the next attempt that helps you get thru it. Here's hoping the second time's the charm for you!

  15. Our first surrogacy attempt gave us a result of <2.0 as well. Our second attempt gave us a result of 40.96 (a weak positive with no colourful email from SCI) but within 48 hours it turned into 104.25 with a colourul email and now we are waiting for our 28 week scan. .... hang in there guys xx

  21. Hang in there. We transferred our best quality fresh embryos to two surrogates for our first attempt and had a zero in one surrogate and a false pregnancy in the other. We were left with lesser quality embryos which were frozen. We debated dicarding the lesser quality embryos and starting over again. Dr. Shivani thought we should still implant the lesser quality embryos and we took her advice. We ended up with our twins. It will happen for you.

  22. Hey hang in there i am sorry for your negative resaults. I just found out this morning mine came back positive, which I needed after finding out last night before the e-mail that my cousins husband ate a bullet last night also. I know you will try again and do it. The best thing is you have each other for your support, and well I am going at this alone, because nothing more in my life is a family with or without a husband. Take care guys and good luck on your second try. Need anything hit me up thundercats87@yahoo.com

  23. Sorry about the negative, but hopeful for the future. Have you heard when you will be able to try again? Will it be with the same surrogate? You're in our thoughts.
